Job Description

At Alson Jewelers, we’re passionate about the finest jewelry and timepieces as well as, outstanding customer service.

We are currently looking to hire an Office Coordinator at our beautiful, newly remodeled store in Woodmere, Ohio. This position is an integral part of our Back Office team and involves a great deal of customer contact and requires strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Assist in processing all inbound deliveries, mainly FedEx, but may include other delivery carriers as well. Duties include logging shipments, opening packages and accounting for and distributing merchandise to the appropriate departments.
  • Assist in preparing/packaging all outbound shipments using the FedEx on-line portal.
  • Assist in tracking all outbound shipments for shipping delays and immediately communicate any delays/lost shipments to the appropriate personnel.
  • Report damaged merchandise or shortages to the department supervisor.
  • Ensure good security processes are followed with regard to the delivery drivers.
  • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping supplies on hand at all times.
  • Assist in answering the main phone line in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Assist the Director of Merchandise with various inventory control functions including entering vendor purchase orders and merchandise receipts into the point-of-sale system, ticketing new merchandise and re-ticketing returned items, as well as the processing of vendor returns for credit and various other merchandise-related tasks as necessary
  • Assist with tracking/reporting of memo merchandise.
  • Assist with preparing jewelry appraisals for customers.
  • Assist sales associates with POS transactions at the registers.
  • Refreshing candy/coffee bar area and keeping sales floor area clear of empty glassware.
  • Keeping track of box and tissue inventory and placing timely refill orders.
  • Gift wrapping, counting cash drawer daily and other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Proficiency with typing and keyboard use is important when processing customer transactions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional phone and communication etiquette.
  • Dedicated team player able to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Manage time effectively, despite numerous interruptions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to frequent changes.
  • Great attendance a must

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 -$21.00/per hour

Work Schedule:

  • Hours 9:30am – 5:30pm Monday-Friday, Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Ability to work Saturdays is required.
  • Ability to work overtime during holiday season and for occasional customer events throughout the year.
