About the Company - The HistoryMakers, the nation’s largest African American video oral history archive(), is a one-of-a-kind collection, housed permanently at the Library of Congress. Its website ( accessed by millions worldwide, is sited in Wikipedia and used as a “go to” reference tool. Its digital archive has been licensed by colleges, universities, K-12 schools and public libraries for use by faculty, students and patrons and is growing in popularity with the focus on online learning. Within the next few years, The HistoryMakers will become the digital repository for the Black experience: providing much needed content, role models, success pathways and frameworks for a 21st century citizenry that has become increasingly less tolerant, divisive and economically and educationally disparate.
About the Role - The HistoryMakers seeks to hire a Non Profit FileMaker Pro Database Entry and Research Coordinator to research names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses to enter into The HistoryMakers FileMaker Pro database. This position will also involve cleaning up incorrect data for over 26,000 records as well as maintaining both electronic and paper file systems. Since the data includes personal information, confidentiality is required and this position will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. Also being detailed oriented and having superior typing/administrative skills is required. In addition, prior successful experience working with a FileMaker database preferred. This position may also include answering phones, making phone calls, and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills - The candidate hired must also be proficient with Microsoft Office; type 65-80 wpm; and be able to commit to working 50 hours a week. He/she also must be ethical, organized, an adept researcher, able to meet ongoing deadlines, stay on task, and enjoy multi-tasking.
