Medical Laboratory Technician

• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizenship
• Clearance Requirements: National Background Check with Inquires Fingerprints and Drug Screen
• Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.
• Period of Performance: 01 January 2025 31 December 2029
• Estimate Pay: $21.00 to $27.00/hourly

Working Hours
Work will be scheduled normally from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m . Monday through Thursday with a 30minute unpaid lunch break not exceed 40 hours per week.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Laboratory Technician Training Program (or equivalent) with at least 6 months of course credit.
• Successful completion of an internship.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Laboratory Technician.
• Current certification in CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Preferred Experience:

• Bilingual oral communication skills.
• Experience in a clinical correctional setting.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Draws blood from patients in open semiopen and locked units which will require direct contact with the adults in custody for analysis or other medical purposes.
• Collect and process Urinalysis and Fecal Occult Blood and collection of DNA specimens. Will assist primary providers in the urgent care room when necessary.
• Receive the adults in custody passes pull file and copy medical records and maintain supplies in all exam rooms.
• Maintain daily appointments for testing.
• Maintaining sanitation in work area.
• Accountability of the needle/syringe inventory.
• Properly documenting lab request logs completing related paperwork and utilizing government equipment.
• Conduct routine equipment checks.
