Pride Health is looking for a Medical Coder to support our client’s medical facility, which is Saint Paul, MN (100%remote) This is a great role with a 3+ month contract with possibility of extension and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! It's 100% remote

Job Title: Medical Coder

Rate: $20 to $21/hr W2

Duration: 3+month contract with possibility of extension (depends on your performance and team)

Shift: 1st Shift

Location: Saint Paul, MN

Job Description : Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing patient medical records post-visit or procedure and translating the information into the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes used by insurers to process claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of medical terminology, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines to complete coding tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse team, resolving coding issues through problem-solving.
  • Ensure high attention to detail in identifying and correcting coding or billing errors.
  • Maintain organizational and time-management skills to meet productivity standards and deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to achieve team goals and success.
  • Adapt to evolving job responsibilities and new coding requirements as needed.
  • Work independently while ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Manage and maintain coding credentials and certifications.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of computers, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
  • Stay updated on ICD-10 coding practices, medical field trends, and government regulations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to handle both straightforward and complex coding concerns with problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong conflict management skills, with a calm demeanor in stressful situations.
  • High attention to detail to accurately process medical records and identify errors.
  • Organizational and time-management skills for handling workload efficiently.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience with computers and standard office software (Excel, Word, etc.).

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 1+ year of ICD-10 coding experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in the medical field.
