Job Description

Summary:

This role involves performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment to ensure reliable and efficient production. The Maintenance Mechanic will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while supporting daily operations such as start-ups, changeovers, and breakdown recovery. Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, adhering to food safety standards, and assisting with equipment installations. The position requires close collaboration with production teams and maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

Job Requirements:

• Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment including conveyors, mixers, ovens, pumps, fillers, and wrappers.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, and plant safety guidelines while completing work orders and logs in CMMS.
• Provide operational support including plant start-ups, shutdowns, and addressing equipment failures to reduce downtime.

Job Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably food processing, with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical troubleshooting, plus ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to safely perform physical tasks and hold or obtain an NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator license.
