Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The primary function of the Backup Driver is to fill in, drive, and operate a box truck or company vehicle to deliver products to vendors and client residences, while providing excellent customer service. This will also include assisting in the moving of furniture during the receiving, shipping, and delivery process. This position supports the internal warehouse staff by assisting with moving furniture within the warehouse, helping quality control receive products, wrapping furniture for storage, and preparing freight shipments as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Backup Driver – 80%

  • Under general supervision, this position drives the Company Box Truck or Company Vehicle to deliver products to our stores, deliver products to our customers, and/or pick up merchandise from our vendors.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws as outlined by the DOT and California DMV.
  • Additionally, this position may ride with the Company Box Truck or Company Vehicle to deliver products and/or pick up merchandise.
  • Manage the offloading and onloading of inventory while adhering to company safety guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate packing standards for all products loaded into the truck to minimize the risk of damage.
  • Inspect products for defects and damages before and during delivery.
  • Responsible for assisting with weekly deliveries, photoshoot deliveries, and installs as assigned by the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Assist in completing accurate delivery documentation and BOLs for local deliveries.
  • Responsible for keeping vehicles fueled in accordance with company policy.
  • Responsible for notifying management of needed repairs by completing daily Fleet Inspection Checklists.

Logistics Associate – 15-20%

  • Additionally, this position supports the shipping and receiving functions in the warehouse.
  • Assist the receiving and shipping team with offloading and staging all large freight orders.
  • Support with offloading and onloading of inventory while following company safety guidelines.
  • Assist with inspecting products for defects and damages during receiving and packing.
  • Help put the product away accurately within the RF Smart binning process.
  • Provide additional support for internal photo shoots and installations.
  • Support in keeping the warehouse floor and inventory organized and clean.
  • Follow all company safety rules, OSHA requirements, and applicable laws.

Other Duties – 0-5%

  • Assist with other Warehouse or Vehicle-related duties as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 1+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in home decor or interiors.
  • Experience driving a 26’ box truck and Sprinter van.
  • Valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Driver’s license for the class of vehicle to be operated
  • Must have no license restrictions other than for corrective lenses.
  • Must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record – required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to write clear and grammatical reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees.
  • Ability to operate a hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Be a team player
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and mobilize large items, up to 50 lbs, while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.

This role pays $21-$23/Hour BOE.
