Position: ERIS Liquids Production Manager
- Experienced in Production/Forecast Management
About the Position
The Liquids Production Manager leads ERIS’s Liquids Team and has overall responsibility for team scheduling, liquids production, cellaring and packaging operations, equipment maintenance, cleaning, quality control, logistics, standards, and record keeping.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Leadership to establish quarterly production goals.
- Work with Liquids Production Manager to schedule labor and/or shared resources in support of Cider, Beer and Specialty Beverage production.
- Contribute to cider production, equipment operation, cleaning and maintenance, quality control, logistics, and record-keeping activities supporting ERIS’s overall Production Schedule.
- Plan out cider production to meet annual goals per Leadership.
- Coordinate calendar and use of shared resources with Specialty Beverage Manager
- Forecast production schedule 6 weeks out, communicating any variances and scheduling appropriate teams for packaging, day to day duties (jointly with assistants), for efficient cider production.
- Liquids Department Operations
- Raw goods procurement, brewing, fermentation, tank transfers, blending, filtration, packaging – overall liquids production
- Follow consistent QC protocol for ERIS liquids production, equipment maintenance, safety, cleaning and sanitation
- Management of Liquids Team: Beer and Specialty Beverages Manager, Brewers, packaging assistants (as needed)
- Participate in regular meetings with Leadership and incorporate input into production meetings, schedules,
- Assist in promotional activities with the wholesaler and pub.
Equipment:
- Evaluate equipment and processes in conjunction with annual production goals.
- Become subject matter expert in setup, breakdown, and maintenance of all Liquids Department equipment.
- Cleaning and preventive maintenance schedule for all Liquid Department production / storage areas and equipment.
- Report needed repairs to Leadership, oversee vendors conducting work.
Record Keeping
- Follow through with consistent QC protocol for ERIS ciders and liquids. If marketplace issues are reported, investigate the cause and brainstorm and document solutions.
- Create / maintain schedule for equipment servicing, draft line cleaning, and safety audits – record outcomes.
- Create / maintain protocol to track batch attributes such as brix, pH levels, cell counts etc.
- Weekly inventory counts for raw goods, liquids-in-process, and finished in-house beverages.
- Tax volume reporting of all beverages produced in-house.
- Oversight of Keg Management and wholesale inventory.
HR
- Plan out Liquids Team schedule to meet production needs
- Delegate work tasks to appropriate team members, accounting for cost efficiency and experience level
- Report workplace accidents per company process
- For hourly packaging assistants, check in with their supervisor to avoid incurring overtime
- Relay (approved) departmental PTO/PSL requests to Payroll Administrators
- Conduct performance reviews for Liquids Department team
Finance
- Coordinate procurement of raw goods with Leadership (as needed)
- Report purchases and process invoices through accounting
- Keep expenditures within departmental budget
- Review COGs with Liquids Team on a regular basis
- Asset management of keg fleet
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
- Must be able to maneuver kegs of beer and cider
- Ability to crawl, bend, twist, turn, and stoop
- Forklift/pallet jack proficiency required
- Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (up to 12 hours)
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must be able to work flexible shifts (including weekends, evenings, and holidays) and overtime as necessary
- 4 years' experience with brewery forecasting and production scheduling, cider making, brewing, wine making, packaging, or manufacturing supervisory role preferred
