Job Description

Covington Associates is seeking an experienced and highly motivated M&A Investment Banking Analyst with demonstrated academic achievements as well as leadership, organizational and teamwork skills. Our analysts can expect a work environment that offers the opportunity to learn and grow professionally through extensive involvement throughout the deal process - from initial client contact through closing a transaction.

Ideal candidates will bring experience in corporate finance, corporate strategy and/or financial valuation and analysis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating detailed and accurate financial models
  • Performing valuation analysis using various methodologies
  • Conducting industry and company-specific research
  • Constructing data rooms
  • Maintaining contact and data-flow between the target and strategic and/or financial buyers and sellers
  • Developing pitch materials, information memoranda and management presentations
  • Coordinating and supporting the due diligence process
  • Working directly with client senior management teams, board members, stakeholders and buyers throughout all phases of transaction advisory and execution

 

Required Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Desire to work in the Boston area and ability to be in office 5 days a week
  • Minimum 1-2 years of investment banking or equivalent experience (Big Four Accounting, M&A Transaction Diligence, Consulting, FP&A, etc.)
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Experience building client-facing PowerPoint slides and Excel workbooks
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills
  • Ability to manage expectations of senior bankers while working on multiple projects simultaneously
