Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Internal Wholesaler works with the Business Development Manager (BDM) and plays a critical role in driving sales and maintaining client relationships. Develops strategies to increase sales of Equity Trust products by identifying and pursuing new opportunities and implementing sales and marketing strategies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Generates sales leads by reaching out to potential clients and educating them on Equity’s products and services.
  • Drives the overall success of the organization through the creation and execution of sales strategies.
  • Develops and executes wholesale sales plans and strategies with members of the sales teams.
  • Analyzes sales data and marketing trends to shape future sales activities and goals.
  • Grows existing relationships, as well as identifies and acquires new relationships to meet sales goals.
  • Assists the Business Development Manager (BDM) with scheduling appointments by providing product information and gathering market data.
  • Follows up with existing and prospective clients to advance the sales process and strengthen relationships.
  • Outbound business development/prospecting calls to prospective clients within the appropriate region.
  • Communicates daily sales reviews, opportunities, and activities with the BDM(s).
  • Schedules and leads weekly pipeline review meetings with BDM(s) and other team members as needed to ensure Client Relationship Management (CRM) is updated and forecast is accurate.
  • Maintains a high-level understanding of Equity Trust products and services.
  • Combines sales methodology and interviewing skills to understand the prospective business, and suggest sales and marketing ideas.
  • Handles incoming phone calls and requests for: information, sales and marketing materials, and product analysis.
  • Drives results and raises awareness of Equity Trust products and its competitive advantages by delivering key messages through effective presentations.
  • Creates and analyzes sales reports to determine opportunities, analyzes the competitive landscape and market data, and conducts competitive evaluations within product lineups.
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external rules, policies, and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mandatory travel to existing and prospective clients, and events/trade shows at least 3x per year or as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum three (3) years of successful sales and/or sales support experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:

  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
