Job Title: Beverage Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Clifton Park, New York

Shift: 2nd Shift - 3:30pm-11pm - Monday to Friday

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive pay ($25.00 - $35.00) + benefits

Reports To: Operations Supervisor

🔧 Position Summary

The Beverage Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing production and packaging equipment in a fast-paced beverage manufacturing facility. This role requires mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair machinery including fillers, can seamers, labelers, case packers, tray packers, conveyors, pumps, mixers, and palletizers
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
• Maintain accurate records of work performed using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and line changeovers
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime
• Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives

🧠 Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school preferred
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food/beverage manufacturing
• Strong mechanical skills with basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with bottling/canning lines and sanitary processing equipment is a plus
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed

🎯 Preferred Experience

• Experience with Angelus seamers, rotary fillers, depalletizers, or CIP systems
• PLC troubleshooting or programming exposure
• Welding or fabrication skills
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety practices
