How you'll make an impact

Reporting into the Global Director of Inclusion and Diversity, this role is a part of the Corporate Inclusion & Diversity team and accountable for helping provide project management and support to advance Gallagher’s Inclusion and Diversity initiatives. The role will be focused on working closely with internal stakeholders and priorities in accordance with the vision outlined by the Human Resources leadership team.

This role is tasked with enhancing the effectiveness of the organization and the well-being of its members by partnering with business leaders and HR professionals to adapt the business strategy, processes and/or people-focused initiatives to facilitate the achievement of key strategic Inclusion objectives. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assists in project management and development/maintenance of resources to drive success of Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) initiatives in partnership with appropriate business and functional team members
  • Partners with our Marketing/Communications teams to update and refresh company websites as needed
  • Serve as an internal thought partner in helping develop I&D program efforts and identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision−making
  • Helps to identify comprehensive set of metrics to measure the impact of our programs in driving inclusive behaviors and in compiling reporting to monitor progress
  • Responsible for managing and refreshing I&D and employee experience information on Gallagher's intranet and website
  • Experience with leading and managing projects; proactively identifies and eliminates obstacles, develops project risk assessments, and implements risk mitigation plans to ensure high quality projects are completed on time
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including business and functional team members, vendors, community partners, etc.
  • Networks with industry contacts to gather and identify Inclusion and Diversity insights and best practices for recommendation to the Global I&D Director for consideration
  • Leads celebration month initiatives; including project management of communications and events/collateral created for the celebration, collaborates and works with the Marketing team on graphics, and coordination of events.
  • Led governance meetings to include scheduling meetings, creating meeting slides, presenting to the group, and sending out recaps of meetings.
  • Partners with social media team to curate I&D related content including writing copy for celebration posts and managing translations.
  • Responsible for managing partnerships and sponsorships in terms of logistics, coordinating with divisions as applicable, gathering post-event details, and submitting invoices with appropriate coding.
  • Experience with using data/analytics (especially focused on Inclusion & Diversity metrics) to inform decisions
  • Candidate will spend 75% of time focused on I/D initiatives and 25% of time assisting with other HR work streams/efforts (e.g., talent management, organizational effectiveness, learning and development) broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed
About You

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, human resources, business, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. 
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ progressive human resources experience including organizational development, change management and/or individual/team capability-building
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an organizational development specialist charged with designing and implementing organization-wide initiatives (experience and/or advanced training in Business, Human Resources, or Inclusion & Diversity)
  • Strong program and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Strong proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrates a passion for Inclusion & Diversity work with relevant experience

Preferred:
  • Prior insurance/financial services and/or global experience a plus
  • Change Management experience
  • Proficiency with SharePoint and Outlook
