Rig Technician Position Overview The Rig Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of drilling equipment and systems. This role involves conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to safety procedures on offshore rigs.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of rig equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to ensure operational efficiency
- Operate and maintain Blow Out Preventer (BOP) systems
- Implement safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist in rig operations and the mobilization of equipment
- Perform hydraulic system maintenance and repairs
- Document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Proven experience as a Rig Technician or similar role in offshore drilling
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Knowledge of Well Control and Pressure Control techniques
- Experience with hydraulic systems and equipment
- Familiarity with rig safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Willingness to work in offshore conditions and adhere to safety protocols
