Job Description

STH Group, a Sodexo Live! company, is a global leader in sports hospitality and travel experiences, with offices in London, Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney—and soon, Miami. We partner with the world’s most prestigious sporting events, including the Olympic Games, Cricket World Cup, and Rugby World Cups, delivering premium travel and hospitality packages that transform unforgettable moments into lifetime memories.

As we expand into North America, we are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Head of Event Operations to lead the delivery of world-class hospitality and travel programmes for major sporting events. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping our inaugural project in the US while helping to establish STH Group’s long-term presence in the region.

We’re looking for someone who is excited by the challenge of setting up and leading event operations in Miami, with the experience, commercial acumen, and leadership to deliver seamless, high-quality event experiences.

The Role

As Head of Event Operations – North America, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic fulfilment and operational plans that set the standard for premium hospitality and travel experiences. Working closely with the Managing Director – North America and reporting into the Group Event Delivery Director, you will oversee operational excellence, supplier management, financial planning, and stakeholder relationships to ensure the flawless execution of our event experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Operations & Programme Delivery

  • Develop and implement operational plans that ensure world-class premium travel and hospitality experiences.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of STH Group’s inaugural North American project, ensuring all logistics, customer experiences, and supplier partnerships meet the highest standards.
  • Ensure all operational processes comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including health & safety and sustainability commitments.

Strategic Planning & Financial Oversight

  • Lead the business planning process for event operations, ensuring financial forecasts and budgets align with commercial objectives.
  • Implement tracking and reporting systems to monitor performance, manage expenditure, and ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop procurement processes in conjunction with the Event Delivery Director and STH Legal team to appoint and manage third-party suppliers.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing Event Operations team, setting a culture of operational excellence and customer-centricity.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to up to three direct reports, ensuring continuous improvement in processes and service standards.
  • Foster collaboration with internal teams, partner organisations, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Build strong relationships with event rightsholders, venues, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure aligned and effective delivery.
  • Lead research and negotiations to identify and appoint suppliers that enhance STH Group’s service capabilities.
  • Work closely with the Group Event Delivery Director and Account Manager to develop innovative, risk-efficient premium experience products.

Sustainability & Innovation

  • Champion environmentally responsible event practices, ensuring sustainability is embedded within operational delivery.
  • Support the Event Delivery Director in developing best-in-class operational standards for STH Group globally.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of three years in a senior role, managing large-scale sports stadia operations and hospitality services in the US.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing operational strategies, budgets, and event project plans.
  • Track record of successfully managing relationships with suppliers, organising committees, and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly adaptable in dynamic event settings, with excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Deep enthusiasm for the sports industry and an understanding of what makes truly unforgettable event experiences.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have the right to work in the US – no visa sponsorship is available for this role.
  • No relocation package is offered – the successful candidate should already be based in or willing to move to Miami at their own expense.
  • Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Why Join STH Group?

At STH Group, we create extraordinary experiences—not just for sports fans, but for our people too. By joining us at this pivotal stage, you’ll play a defining role in shaping our legacy in North America, leading an exciting expansion with the support of a dynamic and innovative global team.
