Job Summary:

The primary role of this entry-level position is to work under the direction of the Plant Manager as a crew member. As a Grounds Person, you are responsible for all duties involving plant operations and maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  1. Protect family & friends. Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations and guidelines while supporting business activities, objectives, and programs.
  2. Respect and engage. Follow Manager’s instruction to monitor plant operations throughout the day.
  3. Compulsive tinkering . Help maintain, prepare, and stage materials, tools, and equipment for plant maintenance projects.
  4. Mastery. Perform daily workplace exams, and inspections of working areas.
  5. Climb ladders and work at elevations while maintaining safe work practices.
  6. Communication. Communicate using two-way radios with other members of the team.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

  1. Prior MSHA training/quarry experience preferred.
  2. Prior mechanical/maintenance experience preferred.
  3. Welding experience preferred.
  4. High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  5. Proficient verbal and written English
  6. Legal right to work in the U.S.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position works outdoors in hot, humid and/or inclement weather. Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
