Duties

• Professional, technical and administrative work, devising, implementing, and managing the NOPD’s Crime Laboratory’s Quality Assurance Management system. Work includes ensuring conformance with applicable forensic testing standards and coordinating the planning, development, and administration of quality assurance activities to ensure forensic analysis results are reliable and reproducible; and related work as required.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a Natural Science (biology, chemistry, physics), Criminalistics, Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, or closely related field.
AND
• Five (5) years of professional analytical experience in an accredited forensic laboratory, which must have included two (2) years of quality assurance responsibilities (e.g. experience reviewing organizational policies, procedures, goals, and objectives and formulating recommendations for improvements).


• Graduation with a Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in a Natural Science (biology, chemistry, physics), Criminalistics, Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, or closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the analytical laboratory experience.
