• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Occasional night shifts (very rare)
• Occasional overtime (dependent on client needs)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Field Technician for the installation and maintenance of network infrastructure throughout various customer sites in LA County. The role involves conduit bending, fiber installation, Wi-Fi access point mounting, switch configuration, and network QA. This is a hands-on, physical position with significant fieldwork and travel across locations.
Responsibilities:
• Install and bend conduit for fiber runs
• Mount access points (ceiling, walls, poles) and network equipment (racks, switches)
• Terminate and test Ethernet and fiber optic cables
• Configure switches for remote configuration by network teams
• Conduct post-installation heatmaps to verify Wi-Fi coverage
• Perform point-to-multipoint installations
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure work meets building codes
• Execute acceptance measurements with a spectrum analyzer
• Create system documentation, maintenance, and measurement reports
• Travel to various customer sites within LA County
Day-to-Day Must Haves:
• Running and terminating Ethernet cables from access points to IDFs/MDFs
• Speed and performance testing of Wi-Fi networks
• Running and managing cables through ceilings, walls, raised floors with proper cable management
• Understanding and complying with building codes
• Physical ability to install and maintain network equipment
• Troubleshooting fiber optics (light testing, dark fiber identification)
• Ability to configure and console into switches
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Completed technical training in electrical engineering, electronics, or related field
• 2–4 years of relevant hands-on experience
• Strong experience with Wi-Fi networks, access points, and switches
• Experience installing and commissioning electronic/network devices
• Must know how to bend conduit, test Ethernet, and clean/test fiber
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office
• Valid Class B or Class C driver’s license
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and code compliance
Nice to Have:
• Experience using a spectrum analyzer (1+ year)
• Background in RF/mobile radio technology
• Knowledge of repeater systems and radio networks
Tools & Equipment:
• Technicians using personal vehicles (with ladders and tools) will be reimbursed for gas and mileage.
