Job Title: Field Engineer

Location: Jerome Ave – Bronx, NY

Type: Permanent Direct Hire (with full benefits)

Salary Range: $85,000 – $123,000 (based on skills and experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

We are currently seeking a Field Engineer to join our team supporting complex rail operations in the Bronx. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay and benefits.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

As a Field Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Perform complex troubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic and mechanical rail systems, including:
• ATC (Automatic Train Control)
• ACSES (Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System)
• Braking systems
• Apply advanced techniques to analyze, maintain, and repair complex rail car equipment
• Conduct root cause analysis to reduce downtime and enhance performance
• Support engineering and conditional acceptance testing
• Train Technicians in accordance with new procedures and FMI guidelines
• Distribute technical documentation to the site team
• Serve as a liaison between Project Engineering and Site Technical groups
• Address and resolve technical issues and customer inquiries
• Monitor proper tool use and equipment care at work sites
• Schemiatic

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in electrical engineering related to rail cars, rolling stock, or a closely related industry
• 7 years of analytical/troubleshooting experience with electronic systems preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in cost control, scheduling, and personnel oversight
• Strong computer skills (MS Office proficiency required)
• Bilingual in English and Japanese is a plus
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and climb ladders or stairs
• Able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 lbs

Work Environment:

• Maintenance facility and active rail yard
• Combination of indoor and outdoor work based on project requirements
• Work boots required
• Exposure to weather elements and working around trains
• Safety and quality protocols strictly enforced
