Job Title: Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Location: Chantilly, Virginia
Clearance Level: Top Secret SCI/Polygraph
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Top Secret SCI clearance with Polygraph and have hands-on experience in security operations within the Intelligence Community (IC). This role requires an expert in managing security for both unclassified and classified environments, including classified systems within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs). The FSO will be responsible for ensuring the protection of personnel, information, and facilities by implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of facility security, ensuring compliance with all security regulations, policies, and procedures for both classified and unclassified environments.
- Manage and support the security of SCIFs, ensuring proper access controls, physical security measures, and information protection protocols are consistently maintained.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters within the facility, coordinating with internal teams and external agencies as necessary.
- Conduct thorough security briefings and debriefings for personnel, ensuring all employees are fully briefed on security procedures, clearance requirements, and reporting protocols.
- Perform security inspections and audits of the facility and SCIFs to ensure compliance with all security standards.
- Investigate and report any security incidents, breaches, or violations, ensuring all required actions are taken in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Develop and enforce access control procedures for personnel, contractors, and visitors, ensuring only authorized individuals have access to restricted areas.
- Collaborate with the broader security operations team to implement and maintain security measures related to physical security, communications, and network security.
- Manage and support the declassification and classification processes, ensuring the protection of classified materials and systems.
- Serve as a liaison with government agencies and intelligence community partners to ensure security requirements are met.
- Maintain current knowledge of security-related regulations, directives, and industry best practices, particularly those affecting the IC community and SCIF environments.
- Ensure the safety and protection of sensitive, classified information through diligent monitoring, auditing, and adherence to security policies.
- Lead and coordinate the completion of all necessary security documentation, including access requests, incident reports, and security clearance verification.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Clearance: Top Secret SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5years working in security operations, with significant experience in managing security in classified environments, particularly within SCIFs.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years as an FSO (Facility Security Officer).
- Experience with the IC Community: Must have direct experience working within the Intelligence Community (IC), including knowledge of security operations specific to the IC.
- Security Operations Experience: Proven experience with the implementation of security protocols and practices, particularly related to both unclassified and classified environments.
- Knowledge of Security Regulations: Strong knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) standards, and other relevant security directives and regulations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present security-related matters to leadership, government officials, and other stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify security vulnerabilities and proactively implement solutions.
- Team-Oriented: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also being able to work independently when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with security operations in a cleared defense contractor environment or similar setting.
- Familiarity with security-related systems and technologies used in the management and protection of classified materials and environments.
- Experience with security training and awareness programs for facility staff and contractors.
- Certification in security management or a related field (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Industrial Security Professional (ISP)) is a plus.
