Job Title: Executive Sous Chef & Sous Chef

Location: McKinney, TX

Pay: $70K - $85K (DOE)

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a talented Executive Sous Chef, who can bring excellent culinary skill and high energy, to a beautiful full-service retirement community. Applicants interested in working with a team committed to excellence and dedicated to food quality & creativity while setting high standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• High School diploma required, Degree in culinary arts or related field highly preferred.
• Be committed to and passionate about high food standards and service
• Three years of progressive experience in a full service, upscale dining concept!
• Assist in training new and existing kitchen staff on the preparation, arrangement and plating of dishes per the current menu
• Be experienced in setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Proficiency using computers, including MS Excel and Outlook.
• Have an excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Have accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Demonstrated success in running a profitable kitchen.
• Demonstrated success in managing and motivating a team of employees.
• Be willing to work weekends and holidays
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude when dealing with all guests and team members
• Ability to work and make decisions in high pressure situations.
• Possess a valid food handler’s card
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and supervisory skills.
• Have experience working in a high-volume kitchen
• Enjoy working both independently and as part of a large team
