Responsibilities of a Matec Mechanical Tech.

  • Assemble fabricated and purchased parts using assembly drawings and parts lists provided by engineering.
  • Implement mechanical alterations and additions during the debugging phase to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Work closely with mechanical and controls engineers to ensure machines operate properly and meet design specifications.
  • Perform various non-repetitive mechanical assembly functions using hand or power tools, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Assemble machines and sub-assemblies according to design requirements and customer specifications, ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Utilize test equipment to perform functional testing, record appropriate documentation, and maintain accurate test data.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel without restriction up to 30%, including some international travel
  • Machine build/assembly  experience or verifiable experience refurbishing, building/rebuilding electro-mechanical equipment, i.e., motorcycles, engines, cars, trucks, farming equipment, etc.
  • Strong maintenance and mechanical background with versatility in and around a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machine assembly and experience with machine shop equipment, including drill presses, grinders, metal saws, and a variety of hand tools.
  • Previous experience with mechanical assembly and maintenance in the automation industry is preferred.
