Job Description

Under the General Supervision of the Manager-Diversionary Initiatives, Diversionary Rehabilitation Liaison researches, and coordinates initiatives designed to support PHA residents who have been impacted by violence and crime to services to the community. This position conducts needs assessments with families who are connected to the criminal justice system. They will make referrals and connect the families to PHA’s Licensed Social Worker for additional interventions and support as appropriate. This role develops relationships with community leaders and serves as the organization's liaison with various constituents.

Salary: $46,660-$49,576.

Minimum education

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Services, Social Work, Communications, Public Administration, or Sociology and or combination of education and related experience

• Requires possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License.

Work environment

• Normal office environment and various PHA property sites, and residence locations.
• May be assigned to work evening hours, and weekend hours.

Physical demands

• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel required

• Travel to various PHA Philadelphia residential property sites as warranted.

• Conducts initial assessments with individuals and families who have been impacted by violence and crime.
• Communicates regularly with supervisor around client needs and referrals.
• Explains supportive services, programs and resources available to members of the community and residents.
• Creates and distributes literature and multimedia materials, such as fliers and brochures that advertise available programs.
• Arranges and conducts programs, services, and special events that strengthen and engage the residents, community and develop relationships.
• Acts as the organization representative for members of the community and other organizations that provide services for community members.
• Assists community members in completing applications and forms to participate in programs and receive services.
• Compiles data to evaluate program efficacy and identify service needs.
• Prepares program, face to face, online and print communication and marketing activities and service reports.
• Deliver and analyze community based qualitative action research
• Helps with case tracking and follow up with residents/clients.
• Design and implement various community events utilizing volunteers.
• Will act as a liaison with community partners to further the organizations goals for community and volunteer education.
• Makes home visits to clients as well as pick up and deliver items to residents with physical limitations.
• May manage charitable giving programs as necessary.
