Job Title: Director of Utility Operations, US West

Location: Vineyard, UT

  • This position will oversee both UT and WA (and any other US West Business we develop) but needs to be based in Utah.

Department: Operations West

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer, West

Salary Range: $180-220k annually (depending on relevant experience)

Job Summary: The Director of Utility Operations is responsible for leading and managing the overall operations of utility services in Utah and Washington. This role involves strategic planning, operational oversight, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Director will drive innovation, enhance service delivery, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the utility operations team, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize utility operations, improve service quality, and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of utility services, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the budget for utility operations, monitor financial performance, and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Customer Focus: Enhance customer satisfaction by addressing service issues and implementing initiatives to improve service delivery.
  • Innovation: Drive the adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to address utility-related issues and promote sustainable practices.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of utility operations and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in utility management software and technologies.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in utility management or engineering are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Hybrid Remote/Office setting with occasional field visits.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required to attend meetings, conferences, and site inspections.
