Job Description

As part of our Global Security Investigations team, you will join a group of attorneys, investigators and analysts playing a vital role in maintaining the security and secrecy of Appleʼs most valuable innovations. You will investigate significant incidents and risks to Apple’s intellectual property and confidential information.

Description

This investigative role will conduct digital forensic analysis and investigate cases of insider threat, data theft, leaks, cybercrime, complex frauds and a variety of other concerns. The successful candidate will foster strong partnerships across Apple’s businesses, identify security loopholes, develop remediations, prepare briefs and reports for Legal and business leadership and refer any relevant legal matters for criminal and/or civil action.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree
  • 8+ years conducting digital forensic investigations into trade secret theft or other high-tech crimes
  • Expertise with imaging and analyzing hardware devices running on Apple operating systems (iOS, macOS, iPadOS, etc.)
  • Experience with SQL queries and databases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding and application of industry standard digital forensics software and the ability to leverage tools and technologies for the collection, review, analysis, and management of electronic data
  • Experience conducting cloud forensics and analyzing digital evidence that is stored on cloud data repositories (iCloud, O365, AWS, etc.)
  • Utilize open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques to gather and analyze information from publicly available sources
  • Knowledgeable in secure handling and storage of physical and electronic evidence in alignment with criminal/civil chain of custody procedures and industry best practices
  • Experience interviewing witnesses and subjects of investigation
  • Ability to deliver accurate, impartial findings with consistent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest integrity and confidentiality
  • Degree in Computer Science or Digital Forensics
  • DFIR, SANS, and relevant industry standard cyber security certifications
  • Prior law enforcement or private sector investigative experience
  • Prior testimonial experience as an expert witness
  • Scripting and/or coding experience (Python and Bash)

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $195,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
