Job Description

Our consumer product client is seeking a Cost Accountant to assist with the daily and monthly cost accounting operations. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Oversee the daily and monthly cost accounting operations and to ensure GAAP compliance and cost accounting procedures
• Manage all aspects of inventory including gross margin and product line analysis and related reserves; inventory reconciliation, reserves, and variance & COGS analysis
• Ensure standard costs and overhead/labor rates utilized are accurate
• Participate in the month-end close duties including journal entries, inventory reserve & reconciliation, variance analysis
• Assist with special ad-hoc projects as needed

The qualified Cost Accountant will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least 3+ years of experience in G/L accounting with solid exposure to cost accounting and/or inventory
• Solid Excel skills, such as pivot tables and V-lookups
• Prior experience with Oracle is preferred, but no required
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written), organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
