JOB SUMMARY: The Corporate People Excellence (PX) Compliance Manager leads human resources compliance and team member relations oversight for our shoreside (corporate) workforce. This role involves identifying compliance risks, implementing controls, and ensuring the company's PX practices comply with relevant laws regulations, and internal policies. Working alongside various stakeholders, from leaders to team members, this leader is responsible for fostering a fair and equitable workplace. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record in managing complex employee relations matters and compliance initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Employee Relations

  • Lead and implement employee relations strategies that align with the company's goals and enhance workplace culture across all locations.
  • Act as a trusted mediator for escalated employee disputes, facilitating resolution processes that promote a fair and equitable workplace.
  • Lead and oversee escalated and complex employee relations investigations, including complaints related to harassment, discrimination, and workplace misconduct. Ensure thorough, unbiased, and timely investigations are conducted.
  • Analyze investigation findings and provide recommendations to PX Business Partners and leaders as necessary. Document and report on escalated investigation outcomes to PX Business Partners, leadership and committees as appropriate.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal audit, legal, security, and other departments on investigations, including outcomes and action plans.
  • Leads escalated adverse impact reviews of organizational changes and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations as appropriate.
  • Liaise with internal and external legal counsel as necessary regarding employee relations matters and legal requests.
  • Partner closely within PX and stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment on employee relations strategies and initiatives.
  • Track and utilize employee relations metrics and feedback to assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Collaborate with PX and other stakeholders, to create, implement, update, and enforce PX and/or company policies and procedures.
  • Audit and review PX policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations across jurisdictions and aligned with companywide policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and verify compliance reporting, including but not limited to required state, EEO-1 reporting, and/or other required reporting.
  • Partner with international PX Business Partners and other stakeholders on required global reporting.
  • Oversee team member records management, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Manage issuance of employment documents, including but not limited to employment contracts and other employment agreements.
  • Oversee PX compliance review, including but not limited to background and conflicts checks review.
  • Manage immigration processes for employees, ensuring compliance with immigration laws and company practices.
  • Liaise with legal and chief ethics office on code of ethical business conduct compliance program.
  • Lead PX business continuity planning and crisis management, including but not limited to emergency workforce response.

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive human resources experience within a multi-state environment in the US; global exposure preferred.
  • Mid-size to large publicly traded company experience strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of people management experience.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Experience with HRIS or case management platforms is a plus.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred.
