JOB SUMMARY
Lindblad Expeditions, the worlds preeminent expedition travel company, is seeking an experienced and talented copywriter to join our New York-based creative team. Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, the Product Copywriter is responsible for writing compelling copy and content about the exceptional trips and experiences the company offers, as well as the best-in-class ships that serve as the base for our guests in the worlds most remote locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing about the 30 destinations our trips visit and the over 100 itineraries we offer. While there is great deal of existing language about many of the places we travel to and the trips we offer, an effort is underway to refine the language in order to convey the unique characteristics of Lindblad Expeditions and differentiate the company from its competitors and to better reflect the affluence and sophistication of our audience.


Copy and content are needed on a continuous basis for our website as well as email, standalone articles, and brochures (a selection of which are printed). The environment is fast-paced and often reactive. You are adaptable, diligent and solutions oriented. You stay calm under pressure and know how to prioritize your workload and your time. You are also considerate, collaborative, and collegial.


You are writer of demonstrable skill who prizes and achieves elegance, clarity, and precision. You strive to avoid clichs. You consider how words sound togethera good writer has a good ear. You are a quick study and stickler for details and accuracythe information you are responsible for conveying is often nuanced and you will take the time to get the nuance right. You understand how your work fits into and supports larger company goals, from converting more prospects to booked guests to increasing audience engagement and brand awareness.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with editorial team and product marketing team to write copy for and create original content about the companys itineraries, destinations, ships and special offers
Build strong relationships with the product marketing team and the expedition developers
Develop a deep familiarity with the companys itineraries and destinations and keep up with changes in real time
Take strategic and creative briefs and produce copy and content that meets marketing goals, stays on brand, and elevates our positioning
Write copy for the website as needed on expedition and destination pages, about ships, offers and more
Write copy for brochures (print and digital)
Write copy for weekly product emails as well as special offer emails when needed
Participate in editorial planning sessions and help shape original content ideas for specific products
Name new itineraries as needed
Understand, at any given time, company priorities and how these could/should influence current copy and the larger product content plan
QUALIFICATIONS

4-6 years of experience as a writer in a marketing capacity with a diverse portfolio, preferably in the travel, hospitality or luxury sectors
Confident grammarian
Some experience commissioning and editing stories
Strong understanding of how copy supports SEO goals
Experience and comfort working within a CMS
Effective communicator, written and verbal
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Bachelors degree
