Job Description:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry and Physics lessons that promote active learning and foster a deep understanding of scientific principles
• Develop lesson plans and instructional frameworks aligned with curriculum maps and standards to guide student learning
• Provide diverse instructional resources, including laboratory experiments and relevant technology, to support hands-on learning and engage students in scientific exploration
• Assign, evaluate, and grade classwork, homework, tests, and lab reports while maintaining accurate records of student progress and providing timely, constructive feedback
• Stay updated on advancements in Chemistry and Physics education, incorporating innovative teaching methods and subject related developments into lessons
• Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment, ensuring proper use and care of laboratory equipment while upholding classroom discipline
• Participate in school events, department meetings, and parent-teacher conferences, and fundraisers while promoting the Bishop O † Gorman Catholic Schools mission and upholding professionalism and confidentiality

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• State certification
• Exhibit the core values of Bishop O † Gorman Catholic Schools: Faith, Unity, Excellence, and Integrity
• Knowledge of relevant technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Good problem solving and decision making skills
• Self-motivated with high energy
