Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst/Product Owner to join our client's web development team. This role serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that digital initiatives align with business objectives and deliver measurable value. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements while supporting our agile development processes.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Management

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from various stakeholders
  • Write clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that developers can execute
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are complete, feasible, and aligned with
  • business goals
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the development lifecycle

Agile Process Support

  • Participate in all agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and
  • retrospectives
  • Work closely with Scrum Master and Product Owner to maintain healthy sprint cadence
  • Support backlog grooming and prioritization activities
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development team

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for developed features and functionality
  • Create and execute test cases to ensure deliverables meet business requirements
  • Coordinate UAT activities with business users and stakeholders
  • Document and track defects through resolution

Performance Monitoring & Analysis

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for web platforms
  • Analyze user behavior and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Create dashboards and reports to communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Support data-driven decision making for product enhancements

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as primary liaison between business stakeholders and development team
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and workshops
  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding timelines and deliverables
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to appropriate audiences

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or
  • related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write clear, actionable user stories and technical documentation
  • Experience working directly with software development teams
  • Understanding of web development concepts and processes
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering and documentation techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in business analysis, product management, or related role
  • Experience with JIRA for project management and issue tracking
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and ceremonies
  • Familiarity with WordPress content management system
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with web analytics tools and KPI tracking
  • Previous experience in home services, construction, or related industries
  • Experience with UAT planning and execution

Technical Skills

  • Project Management Tools: JIRA (preferred), Confluence, or similar
  • Documentation: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace
  • Web Technologies: Basic HTML/CSS knowledge (bonus)
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar tools
  • Content Management: WordPress experience preferred
