BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for coordination and provision of psychological service to primary care clinics, including brief assessment relevant to the primary care setting, focused intervention on a variety of presenting concerns, effective communication with primary care team, and efficient documentation. May include supervision of psychology trainees.

• Vice President-Patient Care Services and Chief Medical Officer

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited school of Social Work is required
  • Current Tennessee License as LCSW
• Minimum Work Experience
  • Experience in health/mental health setting
• Required Licenses/Certifications for position
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to relate and effectively communicate with varying levels of staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operational Excellence/Quality
  Consider the quality of the work tasks required and how the quality of performance impacts the program, function or care this position must demonstrate.
  • Delivers effective consultation-liaison services to primary care providers.
  • Provides assessment and ongoing psychotherapeutic treatment to the primary care population being served.
  • Participates in providing training and in-service education for East TN Children's Hospital staff.
  • Supervises and engages in clinical teaching with psychology trainees.
• Customer Service (internal and external)
  Consider what the employee’s required, position-specific performance and behavior should be and how they should demonstrate it. Indicate what performance standards need to be established as expectations consistent with departmental and organization-wide Service Excellence expectations.
  • Collaborates and works as a team member with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
