Job Description

Swoon is partnered with a family-oriented distributor of commercial and industrial filtration products to hire an Account Manager for the Mechanical Contractors division. This role is heavily focused on customer service, serving as the primary point of contact for an existing client base. This role offers an opportunity to join a collaborative team and drive customer success in a specialized sector.

Location: Fully On-site in Des Plaines, IL (Headquarters)

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 base + 10% performance-based bonus (paid quarterly)

About the Role:

The Account Manager serves as the primary contact for existing customers, managing 500+ accounts and up to $2.2M in revenue. This role works closely with Territory Sales Managers and Sr. Account Managers to drive customer growth, enhance relationships, and increase sales through strategic support and upselling. We would love to find someone with dispatch experience!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle inbound calls and provide dedicated support to mechanical contractor accounts.
  • Manage will-call orders and coordinate deliveries across various locations to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer questions, issues, and service needs.
  • Strengthen existing customer relationships to maintain and grow account revenue.
  • Collaborate with outside sales teams by tracking quotes, supporting sales initiatives, and assisting in onboarding new customers.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services to drive additional revenue.

Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4-year degree preferred or relevant work experience.
  • 1-2 years of customer service and/or dispatch experience.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
